DRSH250 is a 250 Watt Mercury Vapor UV and visible light emitting lamp designed in Russia for UV microscopes and sterilizing equipment. The lamp is set to operate at 127VAC and a current limiting ballast connected in series to prevent overheating since the lamp's resistance decreases along with the increase of current through it. Starting current needs to be in the range of 6 Amps with working Amperage of 4 Amps after the light gets stable after some 10 minutes. To initiate the arc you'll need to shortly connect a HV source to the starting electrode. The Voltage applied is supposed to be in the range of 10KV. Take precausion while connecting the electrodes! After the arc is ignited the liquid mercury inside the bulb filled with argon gas evaporates and the arc starts producing very intense UV emission along with the visible light. Make sure to protect your eyes and skin from burning. You are supposed to be well skilled in electronics before you start experiment with this delicate piece of equipment.
