Not your every day Eberline PRM-6 it's been HOT RODDED many improvements and additions. Two versions were produced the PRM-7 which is a microR instrument with built in scintillator and audio divide scaled in units of microR . The PRM-6 has the same circuit board but without the add on board for audio divide as used on the PRM-7 scaled in units of CPM  dial scale for external scintillator probes. HOW HOT RODDED? Increased response time for faster meter rise with detection ( doesn't affect slower time ) continuously adjustable from slow to fast with pointer knob to see where it sets. Addition of a second probe connector has both MHV & Ludlum type C connections you don't need an adaptor. ( covers are provided for both fittings to prevent shock from unused connector BIG TIME addition AUDIO DIVIDE select 1 in 4,8,16,32,64,128, and 256 speaker clicks per count great for high background count rates with scintillation probes. ( with high rate of counts most scintillation probes have some more then 6,000 C.P.M. you only get  a smaller rate of clicks which can sound like a slow metronome when a detection occurs the tempo increases and you can detect by ear alone without having to keep your eyes on the meter.) Select divide rate by placing a jumper on the desired rate on the additional circuit board which is the same as used on the model PRM-7 unlike the fixed rate of 32 on that instrument it is selectable on this board. A 1/8" 3.5mm audio jack was added to the lower speaker housing box for use with headphones speaker on/off only for speaker. 23 turn trimmer potentiometers replaced calibration pots for more precise and easier calibration adjustments.  Although the above enhancements add greater pleasure of use for scintillation you can still use GM detectors.  Most Geiger counters are not suitable fro scintillation they should have a low threshold of 10-15 mille Volts this one is 10 a Ludlum model 3 is 30 that that means those instruments are not responding to the lower energy pulses output by scintillation detectors the most important low energy not counted or displayed. Meter dial 0-500 C.P.M. with 4 decades of X1, X10, X100, X1K total to 500,000 C.P.M. also high Voltage scale with deck mounted Voltage control adjustable from 500 to over 1,600 Volts. The meter movement is a Gold vein suspension other wise known as taut band and is a sealed military grade meter. ( no jewels pivots, or hair springs ) Requires 2 D size batteries which are provided and installed. ( speaker and audio are powered by the main batteries no external battery needed ) A new coil cord is also included which will fit both MHV & BNC fittings a $25.00 value. A complete service manual is provided in PDF format it covers both models PRM-6&7 includes the circuit for the audio divide that was used in the PRM-7 which is a Micro rem meter with a self contained scintillator the PRM-6 for external scintillators. ( The scintillator probe shown in photo 10 ( IS NOT INCLUDED )
