Electronic Solutions PV2000HD2-5406  20-slot VME Rack & Power Supply   For sale- an Electronic Solutions (a unit of Zero Corp.) PV2000HD2-5406  Rev. B 20-slot VME Rack and Power Supply.  The rack is made up of a TreNew VME J1-Bus 20-slot backplane model V8020J1PDB, a Power One SPM5A2A6F1C4 Power Supply and TWO Acopian W1550MT8 Power Supplies.  The Acopian units put out between 15 and 50VDC, max 8 amps and are $775 each new from Acopian.   The larger Power One I can’t find an exact match for online.  It looks like the actual model number is an SPM5, with the following numbers denoting a specific output module installed.  It looks like the A2 module puts out 5VDC, 150 amps(!), the A6 module 5VDC 60 amps, the F1 module 2VDC 35 amps, and the C4 module plus and minus 15VDC 0.8 amps if I am reading it correctly.   I have bought and sold a number of VME racks, and they all usually have a pretty beefy power supply, but this thing is ridiculous, never seen one with this much punch shall we say.  The backplane also has an SwRI Southwest Research Institute part number on it, 4385-805, and was stuffed with SwRI VME boards which are NOT included.  They are shown installed merely to show that they are receiving power.  The VME boards are being sold separately, and I believe the entire system was being used for NDT work.   I have eight of these racks to begin with, but I am only listing one because the ebay shipping calculator does such a ridiculously poor job of calculating shipping costs for multiple items.  So if you need more than one I am sure that I can accommodate you.  One of the eight does not have the two Acopian power supplies installed.  So I have enabled Best Offer if you can do without those, or perhaps you just need the power supplies.   But if you want a rack complete as pictured the asking price is the price you will pay.  Couple of reasons for that.  First and foremost these things are a major pain to pack and ship, so you can spare me the lowball offers please.  There’s $3K worth of power supplies in the thing, I am not going to spend two hours and $20 worth of packing supplies to ship it to you for $200.  And when the rack sells I have to find a new home for the installed VME boards   What the pictures don’t clearly show is that each rack has a fan module attached underneath with three muffin fans.  In the two racks I powered up the fans come on with power and the green button on the front, which I would have assumed to be the power switch for them, appears to have no effect.  Unless there are unforeseen complications I intend to remove the fan module and ship that separately unless you don’t want it, in which case I can probably shave something off the calculated shipping cost.   The rack is untested other than for power and NO warranty is offered.  However, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.  Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases.  Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed.  Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs, which will be substantial.   Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested.  As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk.  If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways.  If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it.  In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.   Please check out my other listings for more interesting lab, test, and optical equipment, including the VME boards that are in the rack.  Check back often!   Sold as is, as described, as pictured.  Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.  Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.  If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.  Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.   You are also encouraged to visit my “ME” page, where my terms, conditions, and philosophy of doing business are outlined.  I don’t think anything there is outside the bounds of normal e-commerce, but they are binding on the transaction.   Payment is expected within 7 days of the close of the sale and I need to hear from you within 3 days to confirm the transaction.  Because of the weight and/or bulk of the item I have chosen to let ebay’s shipping calculator figure out the cost based on your zip code.  Alternatively I would be happy to ship it charged to your Fedex account.  I will under NO circumstances ship it UPS, the people there don’t seem to be smart enough to handle a shipment charged to the recipients account, nor do they appear to be smart enough to correct their mistake after the fact.
