For sale is one pack of disposable Extrelut QE Columns with a maximum sample volume of 3.0mL for liquid and gas chromatography. Manufactured by EM Science. # 901003-1. According to the manufacturer, Extrelut columns are designed as solid phase replacements for traditional liquid-liquid extractions done with a separatory funnel. Columns contain specially processed wide-pore diatomaceous earth, a chemically inert matrix for use within a pH range of 1-13. After the sample is pH adjusted or salt is added (as for salting out of the sample) and applied to the column, the matrix acts as a holder for the sample. Next, an immiscible organic solvent is passed through the column to extract the desired components, which are subsequently analyzed. Strict control of raw material and final product guarantees uniform batch-to-batch quality. Extrelut is a naturally occurring product and subject to certain fluctuations. Columns are constructed of polypropylene. This is “new really old stock” with no stated expiration date. You will receive a factory sealed pack of 100 columns.
