The PRT5250A Inline Riveter was created to accommodate the natural movements associated with vertical riveting operations at assembly benches and work stations, as well as reducing vibration and recoil when rivets are set. The PRT5250A Inline Riveter provides new standards in operator comfort and ease of movement. Vertical suspension from the integral hanger by a suitable balancing system allows the tool to be brought to the job almost effortlessly (even rotated for horizontal applications) and yet raised away from the operator when not in use, leaving the work surface clear. The system includes the high-efficiency remote vacuum MCS5000 Mandrel Collector, which drastically improves workspace cleanliness. The standard container will hold up to 8500 spent mandrels (more than sufficient for a full shift’s operation) ready-segregated for simple, cost-effective scrap reclamation. The vacuum is generated at the collector; disconnecting the collection tube disables the system. If required, the vacuum transducer, shield, and deflector assembly can be fitted to an even larger capacity container. PLEASE NOTE!!! The Pop PRT5250A can be used just fine by itself, even without the Mandrel Collection System. The PRT5250A tool does have some minor cosmetic scuffs, stains, nicks, scratches, and paint wear from normal use. It has some engraving on one side of the tool. The MCS5000 Mandrel Collector and hoses appears to be in good shape. The interior foam is compressed/pinched in a few spots. The mandrel storage bucket has some scuffs and stains from normal use. The bottom of the bucket has a few cracks in the plastic, which I repaired with some clear packing tape, so it’s still functional. Note that the mandrel storage bucket appears to be a standard Rubbermaid bucket, so it can probably be replaced inexpensively when and if necessary. I hooked up the whole system to an air supply and tested this tool with a number of 1/8” rivets. I am not familiar with this system and didn’t spend anytime adjusting the air pressure or tweaking the layout. The PRT5250A tool itself is working fine with no air or fluid leaks. The spent mandrels were pulled into the mandrel collection hose as they are supposed to. A few gentle taps on the hose and they slid all the way down into the collection bucket. I did have the mandrel collection hose loosely coiled up, so I imagine if it’s more properly stretched out and not too tightly curved, the mandrels will move through it just fine, without needing to tap the line. The instructions tell you how to set up the whole system for efficient operation.
