So I am finally selling my restored Emmert 6A vise. I have done a restoration on this one and I have a lot into it. Here is what I have done. Complete tear down, wire wheel, 3 coats of Hammerite black paint, heavy greasing and rebuild. New handles manufactured to original specifications by Kevin Scott. My only modification is that since this didn't come with the original pin and metal hold down to manage the jaw rotation, I tapped and threaded a 7/16" allen head bolt, spring and ball bearing in its place (you can see this in one of the pics near the anvil). This is a much better than original design but could easily be converted back if you wish. Other than that this is an original, fully functioning Emmert 6A vise. 4" Jaws (smooth and cut as well as a set for custom inserts), rotating base, jaw faces and vertical adjustment. This is a 3 axis vise. I thought long and hard as to the restoration on this vise and decided to go the route I did because I wanted to keep it as pure to form as possible. To look at it quickly it presents as an original un-restored vise. Issues? Only that the original castings had some voids in them, which have been there since new. Only one you can really see is on the machined side of the vise body. Only other issue is that one set of smooth jaws has been bolted into the dynamic jaw instead of pinned. Paint is 98% with a couple of minor scratches Vise weighs 90 lbs without packaging. Shipping is $100.00 even, it will cost me a lot more than that to package it and ship it. I do travel extensively throughout the PA/NY/NJ/New England area so that is always an alternative to shipping (and one that I prefer in order to to keep the vise as pristine as possible). The cutting board base will stay with the vise if I deliver it, but NOT if I need to ship it. Questions? Please ask them. I will be traveling the next two weeks so please allow a little time for me to respond
