Endotronics Acusyst JR Mammalian Cell Culture System The Shipping Is Just An Estimate. EXACT SHIPPING WILL BE CHARGED. THIS ITEM WILL BE SHIPPED THROUGH UPS This cell culture system has a control panel on the front with an LCD and a touchpad with buttons for setup, process control, innoculation, overrides for pumps, gas, E.C. cycle and temperature, start, hold, monitor, calibrate and alarm. On the side is a key lock labelled "panel switch enable/lock", currently set on lock (no key is included). Along the front are six peristaltic pumps (outflow, media, factors 1-3, harvest) with grooves that allow tubes to pass into the culture chamber. Two mounting screws for the pumps are missing but this doesn't appear to be a problem, the three remaining screws on those two pumps keep them secure. The culture chamber has a dual door, the outermost layer opening to reveal a plexiglass viewing panel and the inner layer lifting to allow access to the chamber's interior. Inside the chamber is a mechanism of unknown function that could be involved in agitating a culture container. There are also four tube connectors labelled in, out, IC and EC, and five coaxial connectors labelled pH, pO2, temp, IC and EC. A temperature probe is included. On the back of the unit is a 36-contact IB/P connector labelled "printer", a pair of wire binding screws labelled "alarm out", a nozzle labeled "off gasses", a second nozzle labelled "backup air supply", and a pair of fluid traps/filters for air in/out tubes and a CO2 out tube. The filters were dismounted for shipping and will need to be reattached. The unit takes 117 volt power from an included power cord. How the unit was tested: When plugged in and turned on the LCD comes on. The transparent cover over the LCD has a nick in it and the LCD itself appears somewhat faint but it appears functional. The unit doesn't respond to keypresses, but this is not surprising since the panel switch is in the "lock" position. Since a key is not available no further testing was performed.
