Used but Like New in Original Box ERTL John Deere E Hit & Miss Engine Battery Operated 1/6th scale die cast model #4969-1HDO Only made for approximately One Year. originally released in the middle of 1994 & available for Christmas 1994 then discontinued by mid 1995 Out Of Production for over 19 years with this being one of the 1994 models which is now 20 years old. Run Good as seen in this YouTube video. http://youtu.be/ZwtA_QijRDY These were only made for about a year from mid 1994 to mid 1995 and were available for Christmas 1994 but then discontinued before the 95 Holiday season. As such, they have been out of production for over 19 years now and are only available when you can find them being resold by the previous owners. They were made by the ERTL Company, Inc. in Dyersville, Iowa U.S.A. Made in the United States with some components made in China. Manufactured under license of Deere & Company in 1994. Intended for ages 8 and over. Because of finely detailed parts, sharp points or small pieces may occur if broken. Not suitable for children under 8 years. May contain small parts. Runs on TWO double A or AA batteries, NOT INCLUDED ! Battery compartment is clean with No sign of corrosion which often happens when people leave old dead batteries in things. This includes the original box and paperwork and the rubber band "Flat Belt" used for belting the engine up to other ERTL toys such as the corn sheller, pump jack, and other pieces of equipment. The box has some shelf wear and a little roughness from being opened several times by previous owners. I bought this a couple years ago at a local auction but don't know if that was the original owner or if it had already changed hands a couple times. It looks to have been well cared for though and is in good running shape. The flywheels have a slight wobble to them as seen in the video, but I haven't seen one yet that didn't. Some of the earlier ones  wobbled Real Bad if they turned at all. The first one I bought new and several others I have seen suffered from a binding problem that kept the flywheels from turning but eventually would free up if you were lucky and had a lot of patients dealing with them. A couple of the ones I bought on eBay had broken drive belts which are not replaceable without grinding off the rivets and risking breaking one of the flywheels trying to remove them so you can split the engine in half. As such, I have had to take a couple that I bought as "Running" engines and resell them as Non-running engines. Also have to watch out for poor packaging by lazy sellers as I bought one that the seller just laid it in the box with no padding only to have it arrive with the engine broke loose from the base which was totally busted up in several pieces. One of these days I plan to reassemble that one on a custom made base with a pump jack or cement mixer or something else for it to power when running. Either that or use the guts out of the base to power one of the other ERTL engines and make a small cart for the JD engine to roll around on. This one though is a good runner as seen in the video. Selling AS IS based on pictures and description. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and use the best pictures I can to show the actual condition so there should be no confusion as to what your are getting. While it is a Good running engine as shown in the video I just shot yesterday (12-9-2014) and will be well packaged, I have No Control over how the Postal Workers will handle it. I've Never had any problems yet, but again it is selling As Is for that reason and that reason only. Payment to be in U.S. Currency through PayPal unless picking up in person. Shipping will be calculated by size & weight, plus a small $1.50 S&H fee to help cover the cost of some of the materials used, though I usually end up spending more than that on tape alone making the packages secure for safe shipping. It will be well packaged with plenty of bubble wrap and should arrive in the exact condition as shown in the pictures and video. International shipping is available as well if you're willing to pay for it. Please Note:  While I have always listed my items as shipping within 3 days, I have bumped that up to 5 days due to no longer having Internet access at home anymore and having to drive to library 7 miles away to even see if anything sold or not. Chances are I will still be able to ship items in 1 or 2 days as I always have, but I wanted to give myself the extra 'cushion' if needed. The big old Buffalo Springfield Road Roller in the background of some of the pictures is also listed for sale on here, and the Harley Davidson Telephone will be listed in a day or two (selling for a friend).   Thanks For Looking & Happy Bidding! Please also check out my other current and future listings as I get time to photograph and list more items.  Never know what I might list next from 35-40+ years of collecting and hoarding anything and everything.
