USED ETALON 531B INTERNAL BORE MICROMETER W/ CASEETALON 531B 1.200"-1.400" The best thing about investing in these Swiss bore micrometers is the fact that repair parts and repair service are available. Unlike the cheap Asian imports, these gages have been in use for decades and you can confidently expect them to be useable for many more. Manufactured in French-speaking Switzerland, Etalon ingages (also called Intalometer) are indisputably the best quality internal bore measuring micrometers. These will make direct readings right to the end of a blind bore (the bottom of the hole). Three tungsten carbide tipped measuring arms extend from the end of the larger gages (> 4") when the thimble is turned, and readings are taken from the vernier, just like a micrometer. Gages under 4" have hardened steel measuring arms. Very small bores under .402" only have one or two hardened steel arms, for 2 point measurement. THIS UNIT WAS USED BY A MAJOR AIRLINE WHICH HAD IT CALIBRATED ANUALLY AND STORED IN A CLEAN DRY ENVIRONMENT. THIS IS A GREAT BUY AT A FRACTION OF THE COST OF A NEW UNIT!! That means you won't be able to remove the spindle of one gage and insert it onto another measuring head. Each unit must stay intact. A nice feature of the Etalon ingage is that several depth extensions can be added which allows you to measure deeper bores.
