1965 Rohde & Schwarz Z-g Diagraph German Complex Network Analyzer Used by IBM Corporation for Semiconductor Testing Telecommunications, Electronics, Broadcasting   In Excellent Condition and Working Order Needs cleaning and service Contains silver and precious metals, tubes, operating manuals, power cord External metal case, refurbished with coat of grey paint   In 1950 Rohde & Schwarz developed the first complex network analyzer, calling it the Z-g DIAGRAPH.    For the first time it was possible to directly measure the phase of S-parameters (scattered parameters) of a broadcast, electrical or telecommunications signal.    The Z-g Diagraph instrument was primarily found in measurements on sound and TV broadcasting antennas. But it was also used to test special cables in telecommunications, and it served microwave engineers as a Smith chart.    The Z-g Diagraph (30 MHz to 300 MHz), introduced at the beginning of the 1950s,  at 55 kg (121 lbs.) it is housed in a metal case containing tubes, a power supply and highly sensitive test and sophisticated measuring equipment.   Country:     Germany Manufacturer / Brand:   Rohde & Schwarz, PTE;  Munich Physics-Technical Development Laboratory Dr. Rohde & Dr. Schwarz Year: 1965  Type: Service/Lab/Test Equipment   Valves / Tubes     24: EC55 EC81 EF80 EF800 EA50 EL84 PL81 EZ80 85A2 Wave bands         Wave Bands given in the notes. Dimensions (WHD)       540 x 340 x 480 mm / 21.3 x 13.4 x 18.9 inch   The Z-g Diagraph CBE operates in the frequency range from 30 MHz to 300 MHz. The device is has four main Capabilities: - Impedance and admittance - Transfer properties of four- and multi-pole networks - Phase angle between two equi-frequency voltages. - Application of a linear measurement receiver   The measured values can be read directly from charts to Smith, Carter, or on a polar plot of the reflection coefficient.   The reading is taken as a direct view display by a light spot.  Diagraphs were supplied with the impedances 50, 60 and 75 Ohms.   The tube types are multiple types in sound shape.   Net weight:            122 lbs. (55 kg)
