 For your considration the extension - tool holder made by a special order. This extension was designed and fabricated to be able drill holes where the original drill length is not enough. The overall length is 9.00" The shank diameter is .9999" +.0000/-.0005 The shank length is 2.75". Have flat area 2.50" long for clamping screws. The rest of the body is 0.825" diameter. The end opposite to the shank have a hole to adopt either drill, rim, mill or something else. This hole is 0.500" +.001/-.000 diameter and 2.50" deep. This end also have two threaded holes 5/16-24 UNF for clamping set screws. The screws are not available. The run-out between shank (datum) and the center hole is 0.001  Material: steel 4340; Rc 38-42 Black oxide. Paid $160 for this part, asking less than only the heat threatening process cost.
