Here is a EXTREMELY RARE 1989 3M DYNATEL 965T LOOP ANAYLZER/TERMINAL 6.5V DRY CELL BATTERY. In my opinion, it is in Excellent Condition for its age and use. Includes: Instruction Manual (900-T-Series Test Set Terminal Emulation Manual) March 1992, Cable leads (three sets), carrying strap and pouch in back. Excellent working condition. Powers up, First screen reads: 3M Telecom Resources copyright 3M co 1989. Second screen reads: Main Battery 6.5V Dry Cell Batt. OK-see photos. Manual has instructions on how to get started, Section 1 Introduction, Section 2 AT&T CAS Net terminal operation, Section 3 DEC VT100 Terminal Operation, Section 4 Terminal Specifications. Underneath the lid is a chart, tells the functions of the blue and yellow buttons. Example, 1 is voltage measures ac and dc voltage. 2 is current, measures dc current and ground resistance. 3 ohms measures dc resistance between test leads. 4 ringers measures number of ringers on line and displays configuration. 5 opens measures distance to opens splits and counts load coils. 6 tone sends tones for tracing and transmission testes. 7 reg. tests for presents of loop treatment and measures loop resistance. 8 loss measures line loss and test tone frequency. 9 noise measures circuit noise power influence and balance. * choices from alternatives or continues test sequence after a pause when * is display. 0 auto cal performs self test battery charge and other maintenance functions. # choices from alternatives when # is displayed. There are 4 functions in the yellow: F1 DC test, F2 AC Test, F3 R.F.L, F4 OHMS/FT. There are two terminals: Tip and Ring. Also a alpha and numeric key board. Through a tip-ring connection to a working or dial tone line, the unit's modem can dial to a telephone company computer and connect to it as a terminal. Technicians in the field can then use the test set/terminal to receive workloads: connect to various operating systems for information: transmit data to host computers: and transmit and receive cable records information, loop assignment records, history records and time entry records. The 900-series T-type (with terminal emulatin capabilities) test set comes in the same yellow plastic case as the non-T-type test sets. The larger LCD display features an intensitiy-controlled back light, ans shows sixteen lines of forty characters each. In section 1, you can Setup Protocol, setup modem, setup macros. This was a Very High quality, top of the line, Extremely Expensive equipment made by 3M at that time for technicians in the field. Extremely Rare to find, especially in this condition.
