ONLY the PROBE is being sold! This is a probe made from an ADIT B29/B10/B23 and a chunk of Bicron neutron sensitive plastic scintillation material. It is shown at more or less background, detecting a ra-226 test source, and detecting neutrons. It is different from standard plastic scintillators in that it has a little bit of 6-Li doped ZnS:Ag added in addition to the standard dye to pick up the neutrons. This probe is crazy sensitive, and if you are using a meter that only has up to a x-100 multiplier, you will need to turn the HV on it way down. If you are looking for neutrons, you'll do that anyway since the flash from the neutrons is extremely bright compared to the gamma rays. I used this for a few experiments, but now since i have some nice 3-He detectors (with a better S/N ratio) i'm using those instead. If you want an extremely sensitive gamma detector that also has significant neutron detection capability, then this is for you. I have lots of other nuclear related items, lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.
