The illuminator is similar to illuminators sold by Fostek, Nikon and many others. It has a combined ON/OFF and variable brightness control that will adjust the light level over a wide range. The illuminator includes a fiber optic ring light that attaches to a microscope etc. The ring opening is about 2.1/8" or 53mm. The illuminator uses a standard EKE or similar 21 volt 150 watt bulb. The bulb is in operating condition. It is very easy to change the bulb. Just unscrew two knobs on the front and lift up (see photos).
