Filmoplast SH Book Cover Re-attaching tape What does it do? Filmoplast SH is made for re-attaching book covers to the main body of the book, as seen in the accompanying photographs. The elastic adhesive makes this a superb, strong and long-lasting repair tape especially where constant folding and unfolding is required. In the framing industry this tape is widely used to seal the back of picture frames to reduce the chance of dust and dirt ingress and to create high-quality strong hinges for works of art. How does it work? Filmoplast SH is a self-adhesive woven cloth tape. It's made with an acid-free rayon material backed with a strong, elastic, neutral pH adhesive. The adhesive side is backed with a removable silicone paper to make application extremely simple and quick. You simply peel away the silicone backing paper and affix the adhesive side to the area that requires mending. Why is Filmoplast SH better than sellotape or gaffer tape? Sellotape and gaffer tape is great for everyday use but it isn’t made with book repair in mind; it’s an acidic tape which means that before too long it'll go yellow and brittle and fall away and potentially damage the product you're trying to mend. Filmoplast SH tape is made specifically made to repair books. It is acid-free and so it will not go yellow and brittle and is very easy to apply. The adhesive is long lasting and elastic which makes it great for books, documents and maps which are folded numerous times. It is a much friendlier and longer lasting product than standard adhesive tapes. The tape can be easily trimmed to the correct length and width using scissors or a craft knife. What will you receive? Each pack holds 1, 5 or 25 meter lengths x 1.3cm (width). Postage and Packaging Your item will be sent appropriately in protective packaging.
