Fiskars Heavy Cook's Knife With 14" Blade, 18-1/2" Overall Length, New

US $160

The look and feel of this heavy cook's knife is virtually identical to the Heavy Cook's Knife of a well-known German maker of life-time cutlery (can't mention the name here, although one is pictured).  The knife offered here is manufactured by Fiskars in Germany. From the pictures I took of the two knives side-by-side, you can see that both knives have a 14" (36 cm) Inox blade which is razor sharp.  Both also feature a full-tang, triple-riveted handle of food-grade composite material, not wood or bone. The only visible difference between the Fiskars and the "famous name-brand" knife (top of photos, with red-trident logo visible) is that the Fiskars knife is about 3/8" narrower and the overall weight is a few grams less.  Nevertheless, this formidable Fiskars blade weighs in at 597 g. for definitive cutting and chopping of heavy materials. The "famous name-brand" knife (also pictured) retailed in 2011 at upwards of $800-$900 dollars, so there is no question that this knife by Fiskars is a terrific value for a similar piece of quality cutlery costing under $400.   This auction includes one (1) Fiskars 14" Inox Cook's Knife only.    It comes with no "sleeve" or block as it is intended to hang from a magnetic strip.   Item will be shipped securely wrapped and padded so as to avoid damage. Again, please note:  The "famous name brand knife" which is pictured alongside the Fiskars knife is used only for comparison purposes so you can see for yourself that the two knives are nearly identical in style and grace.  The knife with the red-trident logo is  NOT included in this auction!                                Powered by eBay Turbo Lister The free listing tool. All items are being offered for sale locally.  Items may end at any time due to local sale, so bid early and bid often! :-) **GENERAL NOTES:  Some people who "watch" items forever would be better off to use the "ask a question" option and make an offer.  Likewise, I offer frequent markdowns (on individual items) as well as "quantity discounts" on BIN orders of 3+ items.  It always helps your purchase price if you buy more, PLUS it sometimes enables me to combine items and save you shipping. If an item is not currently on "markdown" please don't hesitate to make fair offers/best offers because we can always negotiate;  however, WHEN AN ITEM IS ALREADY MARKED DOWN, PLEASE DO NOT USE THE BEST OFFER FEATURE LIGHTLY.  (This isn't "Pawn Stars" and I won't accept offers of "half of the BIN price" when that BIN has already been marked down 15% or more.  That being said, if you do make an offer on an already marked-down price, please keep in mind that my counter-offer is generally final the first time I make it.)
