There are a couple scuffs and smudges due to long term storage, this is strictly cosmetic. This unit is a high quality American made tester. The base and heating receptacle are cast iron, the sample cup is cast bronze. The major components on the upper assembly are bronze as well, painted black by the manufacturer.
