The old FMDA Safeties are no longer manufactured because they contain Mercury. This replacement kit consists of a Robert Shaw 'J' Type-Magnetic Safety and Gas Carrier, a special 'Brass Adaptor' so it will match up exactly with the old FMDA valve, and a new 18" thermocouple (Flame Sensor). Other length thermocouples are available if needed. NOTE: We install the brass adaptor in our shop prior to shipping. This allows for proper alignment of the button when installed. This is not something you want to do in the field. The Robert Shaw Safety is a 'J' Type, Gas In/Out: 3/8" NPT, With Pilot In/Out. Adaptors are included which make this valve suitable for 1/8", 1/4" and 3/16" pilots. This unit will be shipped with an 18" Thermocouple unless otherwise requested. This safety is suitable for older Wolf Ovens and some other brands. If you are uncertain of anything, or if you are not quite sure this is what you need, please give us a call.
