These hoods are equipped with stable, balanced airflow which is the result of a reliable design and quality construction that produce a precisely controlled Class 100 or better environment. Contaminated outside air will not drift back into the workstation’s work area, ensuring product protection. The Forma 1186 biosafety cabinets come with a frameless glass window allowing scientists a clear view of the work area. The 10 inch glass sash opening gives the end-user more mobility and reach-in depth without compromising protection. The patented, high velocity Vortex Channels provide added product, user and environment protection. These move the turbulent air into the return air system, minimizing the dangers of particulates escaping from or entering the cabinet. The Forma biological safety cabinets’ UV interlock safety feature provides additional safety by prohibiting UV light operation, unless the sash is fully closed. The carefully directed laminar airflow also increases consistency and sterility of the cabinet’s airflow. The built-in blower motor on the Forma 1186 delivers sufficient reserve airflow capacity. This makes the biological safety cabinet accept up to a 230% increase in filter resistance and still meet NSF recommended airflow specifications, extending filter life and reducing maintenance costs.
