Forney 30705 E7018 Welding Rod is a mild steel low hydrogen rod that is suitable for all positions on hard enable steels without preheating. With a low hydrogen content to reduce cracking and peeling, this 3/32-inch diameter rod delivers quality results on low amperage DC welders and higher amperage AC welders. It is designed for welding hard enable steels and projects involving hard to weld steels, including thick sections and restrained joints with cracking issues. The tensile strength of this 5-pound line weight rod is 70,000 PSI with an amperage range of 75-105 Amps DCEP Reverse or AC. Not recommended for use with low open circuit-voltage OCV power sources, this welding rod is excellent for tack welds and out of position welding.
