Galvanometer with Millivolt, Analog Scale; -35mV-0-35mV; includes Styrofoam case; brand is EDM-01 GLOBE; color-coded binding posts; This economy galvanometer is a type of sensitive ammeter that is used for detecting electric current. Use of the galvanometer includes education, laboratory and scientific applications and industrial uses, any where measuring an electrical current is required. It is an analog electromechanical transducer that produces a rotary deflection of an pointer in response to electric current through its coil in a magnetic field. When an electric current passes through the coil, the coil experiences a torque that is proportional to the current. The galvanometer is primarily used to measure low currents, for example, bridge circuits. The accuracy of the galvanometer is dependent upon having a uniform and constant magnetic field. This galvanometer is full scale and fully enclosed within a sturdy plastic housing and has an accuracy of ±2.5%. Measures from -35 to 0 to 35 millivolts (mV) Scale is in 1.0 millivolt (mV) Size of the unit is 3.75 in.(W) x 5.50 in.(D) x 3.75 in.(H). Meter posts accommodate Banana Plugs, Spade Lugs, Alligator Clips or Bare Wire leads.; I used these galvanometers in high/middle school physics labs for Lemon as Cell Labs with various metal electrodes/foods.
