This North 40HE filter doesn't use any active ingredients that limit the shelf life of the filter like traditional military filters. This means that this filter has no foreseeable expiry date and can be reused multiple times. The 40HE employs a High-Efficiency Particulate Arresting (HEPA) filter medium that will stop 99.97% of particles greater than 0.3 micrometers (microns). For survival and emergency use, this means that it will filter out radioactive fallout dust and anything above 0.3 micrometers (microns) like mold spores, Anthrax spores, and some Bacteria and Viruses (See chart on top). It is very light and very easy to breath through! This filter uses the standard 40mm NATO threads, so it will work with practically all Gas Masks!
