It is ready to use as soon as you receive it. I go completely through them to make sure you are getting a perfect running system. I dont sell junk heat therapy pumps so buy with confidence. This is actually a Gaymar TP-500 sold under the Baxter name. Comes with the pump unit, tubing, operating manual sent via e-mail and pdf form, and new large heating pad. For use with all T-Pads or K-Pads with “Colder Connect” type connections. Many different styles of pads are available directly from Gaymar/Baxter and other online sources. I regularly see them being offered on ebay. Pad ordering information is also on the last page of the operating manual. I have included a close up picture of the pad connections. This heat Therapy Pump power unit supplies a temperature controlled flow of heated water through a set of hoses to a pad, which is then applied to a patient for the purpose of warming. Pad temperature is controlled by a thermostat on the front of the unit. The thermostat is a tamperproof design and requires a small allen wrench to adjust. Safety features include a tip over shut off and over temp shut off if a hose gets pinched or the water quits circulating. For the treatment of hypothermia, hyperthermia, ischemia, chemical injury or thermal injury. CONDITION Excellent cosmetic and tested working condition with minimal sign of normal use. Really quiet while running which is a big deal since you will have to be sitting next to it. The pad you will receive is a sealed new one identical to the one seen in the pictures. I filled the tank with distilled water and ran it for a long time. It is pumping strong and the water is maintaining the proper temperature to correspond to the thermostat. Set on high the tank temperature is 114F. The cord and hoses are like new.
