This listing is for a GE Security UTC Access Control WIU-2 Two-State Wiegand Interface Unit, Convert Stand. The Wiegand Interface Unit-Two State (WIU-2) card features a Wiegand data converter, which can accommodate both conventional and proprietary Wiegand reader protocols, and includes a 2 amp relay for door strike control (entrance, exit) activity. With the WIU-2 card, any organization can quickly add a wide range of magnetic stripe, Wiegand, Proximity, Mifare, and Biometric readers to any UTC Fire and Security access control system. The WIU-2 monitors communication between the microcontroller and WIU-2. If a communication failure occurs, the WIU-2 Immediately alerts security personnel about the reader's condition to ensure quick response to the right location. To minimize installation efforts, the door contact and door input circuitry connects directly to the WIU-2 to avoid the high cost of home-running multiple cables all the way back to the controller.
