customer installed on input of 5 KW UPS unit but was incorrect application - then they purchased  a large three phase UPS and stopped using the unit . Was in service for 2-3 yrs. before being removed. Should be installed with a 30 amp circuit breaker as shown on the label of the unit. Fully tested ( Green LED on with Power applied) Since most newer household appliances are loaded with IC'S (integrated circuits) and other sensitive components it is a good idea to provide some form of protection from hi energy surges external to the house that can cause damage.
