This Geiger counter is designed for use with the smartphone - then it will *measure* the level of radiation and the radiation dose. Without smartphone is just an *indicator*. It indicate each detected particle (gamma-quant, x-ray-quant or beta-particle) - "click" sound and red flash. It gives the classic "Geiger clicks",- not beep-signals, like many modern dosimeters. When the headphones are inserted - built-in speaker is turned off. Set includes jack to mute the sound (when it is installed - the device is not making a sound - only flashes). Set: device, box, instruction manual (on Russian), sound-off jack. Connect it to the headphones and you can "feel" the radiation, as if you received an additional sense organ for it - "cyber-receptor". Exist the program's for smartphone's and PC to work with these devices: they perceive Geiger counter clicks through a microphone or the connected smartphone headset (wired or bluetooth). To connect the indicator to your smartphone you need: 1) Put the headphones (any type) in to this Indicator; 2) Connect the headset  (the cheapest suitable) to your smartphone. 3) Mount headphones to microphone of headset. 4) Download and install the software on your smartphone to work with Geiger counter. This indicator gives a very loud clicks in any headphones - any microphone hears them well - compatibility problems will not be. In order to listen to the clicks by ears recommend headphones with volume control. First it was the radiation indicator DRSB-88, but he had with a very low sensitivity Geiger counter  - 1...3 CPM in the natural gamma-background (counter type - SBM-21). I installed another Geiger counter (SBM-20), it gives at least 15 CPM in the natural gamma-background. Its sensitivity is equal to 0.029 pulse per second on micro-roentgen per hour. Number of pulses in 40 seconds equals the level of radiation in the micro-roentgen per hour. Power Source: 1 x AA battery (Alkaline). Continuous operation - not less than 1000 hours on a single battery. The device not contains CMOS-type electronic components - this makes it reliable. Output pulse amplifier uses gas-discharge thyratron. Do not disassemble the device - high voltage source inside. Not lethal, but can cause pain."
