Each package of mantles I have produces between 1700 and 3300 CPM on my two Geiger counters. Lower readings are obtained when the mantles are still in the bag. Higher readings are obtained when the 4 mantles are removed from the package and doubled over (quadruple). Your CPM reading may be slightly higher or lower depending on the sensitivity of your Geiger counter.
