GEMU Model 612, 1/2" Sanitary Triclamp (ASME BPE) 2-way Diaphragm Valve Assembly, Stainless Steel 316L, for Biopharm. Brewery, and Food Service Seller's Description: Offered is a GEMU 612 manually operated diaphragm valve with 2-way bodies and 1/2" Sanitary (ASME BPE) connections. Overall length, flange-to-flange, is 3.5". The bonnet and internals are made of all stainless steel, and the hand-wheel is made of temperature-resistant plastic. The bonnet design includes an integral optical position indicator (red band) to help know whether the valve is opened or closed and a seal adjuster to increase service life of the diaphragm. During refurbishment, the diaphragm was replaced with an PTFE-lined EPDM DN 10 diaphragm that came from stock and was unused (i.e. "new"). As a bonus, I am also including a SPARE diaphragm of the same type (GEMU, DN 10, Type 50). These valves find use in a variety of settings, ranging from pharmaceutical manufacturing and bioprocessing, to brewery and food and beverage service. Working media would include corrosive or inert, gaseous and liquid media which have no negative impact on the physical and chemical properties of the body and diaphragm material, which in this case is stainless steel 316L and PTFE. The simple breakdown of the valve to separate the product contact body and diaphragm makes washing and sanitizing simple and effective. Replacement diaphragms are also available through GEMU USA. The PTFE (teflon) laminated diaphragm included has a service temperature from -10 to 100°C (14 - 212°F) and pressures up to 150 psig. Several of these valves are available; I sanitized and re-assembled each of them with the new diaphragms. The exterior body may show some minor nicks from use, but I've selected valves that have highly polished interiors and seal-face surfaces with minimal use/scratching. I would not sell you a valve that has a damaged or corroded flange or interior where you could not make an effective connection - these are very nice.
