General Electric Type Ej-2 Fuse

US $500.00

Two blown General Electric current limiting fuses Type EJ-2 that had protected a big electric motor at the US Government Printing office in Washington DC in the 1970s.  Nominal Voltage 4800 - 2400.  Interrupting rating 60.000 Amps. My dad had retrieved them and gave them to me as souvenirs  from the misadventure. The fuses blew the highvoltage supply lines when the motor winding short circuited.  One of the fuses is cut away to show the copper elements that disintegrated into small pieces and the sand that formed bits of glass to increase the dielectric strength of the interrupted current path.  These have been conversation pieces on my desk for 40 years since most folks have no idea what they are or do. They might also be educational examples for some training class.
