This Goal Setting and Success Planning Journal is designed to help you to define your most important goals in life and then incorporate actions into you daily life and incorporate a journal of your thoughts and ideas. This is not a calendar. Most everyone already maintains an electronic version of their calendar for work or on their phone so this tool works well for those that do not need or want another calendar. This tool helps you manage the things and ideas that you will end up scheduling on your calendar but is not a calendar. How to Use this Goal Setting and Success Planning Journal Step 1: Do the goal setting exercises to establish your goals. The planner includes templates and/or a process for: Goal Brainstorming Worksheet- Capture ideas for goals you want to achieve one day Goal Prioritization - You can't do everything but you can do the most important things. The Goal Ideas Worksheet helps you capture ideas on how to achieve the goal (e.g. what actions or behaviors will help you achieve the goal) The Goal Details Worksheet is then completed each prioritized goal and contains the following areas: a.       Goal Name (this is the short name of the goal which is how you will refer to it) b.       Goal Specifics (puts more words around your goal to make it specific to you) c.       Importance (defines why it is important to achieve) d.       Measuring Success (how will you know when you have succeeded?) e.       Goal Completion Date (what is your target for completion) f.        Sub-Goals or Tasks                                                        Step 2: Use the daily success planning journal to plan your activities for the day which take into consideration your goals and priorities. This section comprises the bulk of the journal and 2 full pages are dedicated to each day. The binding of the book allows the book to lay flat and open to the days planner and journal making it easy to refer to throughout the day. The book includes 90 days of pages but since the pages are not pre-dated, you will not waste pages on days you do not use it, for example on weekends or holidays. The daily planner and journal section includes the following sections: Tasks and To-Do List These sections are for planning your day. They are organized into 3 separate sections to try to establish balance in your life. Goal Focus Section - In the Goal Focus section, list the goals you are focusing on today. Goal Focus - This section allows you to make not of the goals and focus areas of today. This could be same most days or different every day. The idea here is that it allows you to move multiple goals forward over time by focusing on one on a particular day. Daily Commitment - As part of your normal day, this section allows you to establish and maintain a routine to follow and modify as needed. This section has the SAVERS preloaded from Hal Elrod’s Miracle Morning. There are also 6 open spots to populate with any other daily routine items you want to incorporate. Add in the blanks lines any items you want to incorporate each morning. It might be the same things everyday or they might change over time. As part of your goal setting process, you will have identified also any items that require to commit to a daily activity vs. one time task. This is the section where that is tracked. Mission - This is your primary mission in your life. It could be your job, your business, your education, volunteer work, or your primary goal in life. When you define your mission, you are saying it is a priority in your life. Goals -These are additional goals you have for yourself that are in addition to your mission. These can be easy to lose track of so this is space to make some progress on these in your busy day. Personal - This where you prioritize your personal life. This can include your relationships, family, your health, and other personal aspirations which are important but can be neglected without the proper focus. Daily Inspiration This is an inspirational quote or message which is different each day. Feel free to write inside this box any reaction to the message or how you might apply this idea to this day.   Gratitude and Prompt Expressing gratitude is designed to acknowledge the goodness in your life. It can help you maintain a positive outlook, improve your well-being, and strengthen relationships. Feel free to write anything you are grateful for. Each day there is a different gratitude prompt which will help you focus on different things and areas you can be grateful for. You may write in a reaction to that prompt or something else that you are grateful for.   What I Learned This can be a reflection on the previous day or you may choose to do this box at the end of the day to reflect on any lesson learned. The spot is good for reflecting on what went well. It could be something you learned or something you already knew that became more clear. Improvement Areas This box is where you can reflect on any challenges you had, and as the box before, it can be a reflection on the previous day or you may do this at the end of the day.  Maybe you got distracted and we not as productive as you would have liked. Cool Ideas This is where you can jot down any ideas you had for the future projects, cool things to do, new business opportunities or anything you want to remember for later consideration. Feel free to jot down anything here regardless of whether it is feasible or not. Be sure then to copy the best cool ideas to the Cool Ideas section towards to back of the book. Rotating Question The rotating question is designed to get you thinking in a new direction based on a prompt that changes every day. Feel free to be inspired by the question or go in another direction if the question doesn’t inspire you. Notes / Journal This section is for whatever notes or thoughts you would like to capture for the day. It can serve to document things that happened, ideas you have, or anything you want. Step 3: Accumulate ideas from the daily planning journal for later planning. From the daily journal, you may have notes and ideas that you want to capture in a centralized place for easier future reference. In the colored section of the journal at the back of the book, there are 3 of these sections to capture the items from daily entries that you want to put in a centralized location as follows: Key Learning Compilation Improvement Areas Compilation Cool Ideas Compilation These are pages are a great reference when you are going through your goal planning or revisiting your goals.
