3-Wire Fused Test Lead Set, suitable for most 17th edition multifunction testers including Fluke 1651, 1652, 1653, 1654 (including a,b & c models). This set has the advantages of unfused probes AND the safety of fused probes....the best of both worlds! Sometimes the extra impedance of fused probes can be a problem, so you can now swap them over for unfused probes, without changing the leads. These leads are supplied by a quality British manufacturer, they are 1000V Cat III, 50KA fault rated, 500mA fused. These leads have been designed and manufactured to be fully compliant with HSE GS38. The set includes 3 free 10A fuses as well as the standard 500mA fuses (Although GS38 recommends 500mA fuses, some people prefer to use 10A fuses because the higher resistance of the 500mA fuses can make it difficult to null the leads on some older testers, this is the same for all test lead sets) Suitable as a direct replacement for any test instrument that has 3 x 4mm shrouded banana socket connections. A suitable GS38 upgrade for test instruments that are supplied with non-fused test leads The probes are detachable so that other standard 4mm accessories can be used, the probes have 4mm lantern ends to fit into R2 test adapters. The tip shrouds are spring loaded retractable type, so they can't get lost. How to tell if you need new test leads........... If you get high or erratic readings on the continuity test or loop impedance test If you are finding it hard to null / zero the leads If continuity readings change when you flex the leads, particularly where they enter the probe, or the plug at the ends. If you connect the ends of the leads together at the probes or croc clips, then do a continuity test, your meter should read about 0.1 Ohms If you measure the resistance of your leads using a multimeter, they should each be about 0.1 Ohms.
