Back in the 1960s, before phones were available to everyone, I worked for a phone company and managed to get my hands on several of these phones, which were exclusively used by phone companies at the time. Unlike modern phones, this rotary phone doesn't have a ringer as the phone company would add one based on the line and ringing scheme. Some phones have a light film on the back dial plate, but you can easily remove it with a fingernail. This is a GTE Vintage Wall Dial Telephone in Lt. Unfortunately, the phone is missing both the cord and the handset. This phone has been stored in the basement since 1967 and comes with flat-rate shipping for $27.00. I sold these phones to friends who didn't want a ringer, as the phone company would check the line ring current to see how many phones were connected and charge you or make you remove illegal phones. Blue that comes in a new open box. By adding a transformer, which is included, you can light up the back of the dial.
