HAAS Control Simulation Module CNC Mill Lathe Simulator Trainer VF2 VF3 CSM1A-RThis auction is for a HAAS Control Simulation Module . This is a US MADE CNC trainer. These operate just like the controls on the actual mills/lathes (in fact they even use the same components: hand wheel, keypad, buttons, switches, etc.) This allows you to practice programming, as well as dry run sample programs. An invaluable way to test a program without running the risk of crashing the actual machine. Great for teaching CNC, as well as a trainer/verification tool for any shop. This is Model CSM1A-R S/N: 100418 D.O.M.: 7/27/01 As you can see from the photos, this unit is missing the monitor and is being sold AS-IS. I believe that replacement monitors are available directly from HAAS. Their service department stocks any part that you would need. I have hooked up an old monochrome monitor, just to test that the control powers up and functions correctly. As far as I can tell, everything seems to work as it should. For some reason the monitor I am using tends to "lock out" the control when it is plugged in. I have to unplug it, switch between screens, and plug it back in before being able to see the current display. I believe this is just due to me having the wrong cabling. This is a monitor that I had off of an old computer and it only uses a few of the available 9 pins. This seems to be the incorrect arrangement for this control, as it will also not let me turn on the module with the monitor plugged in without bringing up an alarm. With the correct monitor though, I see no reason why the module would have any problems. I can cycle between various screens and they all seem to display correctly. The monitor is not really included in the auction (or at least the shipping costs). However, if you would like to have it, I will send it along for free if you pay the additional shipping charges (weighs about 20 pounds.) The actual Control is around 70 pounds. Please feel free to ask any questions. I operate a VF2 and VF3 for work on a daily basis and am quite familiar with this control. As I mentioned, this is identical to the actual machines. The spare parts alone are well worth the price if you need them. Being made by Haas, it is excellent quality. PayPal is the accepted form of payment.
