Brand new Hamamatsu R6231 PMT Photomultiplier Tube that has been modified with a new 120 MegOhm Voltage Divider and CAP assembly with BNC connector. This setup works well with many battery operated survey meters and USB or battery powered High Voltage Bias Power Supplies. These PMTs work well with Ludlum meters, Gamma Spectacular HV Bias Drivers, and Theremino PMT adapter. Ships with the Hamamatsu Data Sheet. These are NOT the typical 20 to even 50 year old tubes often found on eBay (usually sold with no guarantee of operation, from sellers who would not know how to test one in the first place). This listing is for a modern high performance high quality PMT, one that normally sells for hundreds of dollars when purchased new. Each tube leaves my lab tested and guaranteed to satisfy. These PMTs are great for Scintillation Counting and an excellent choice for Gamma Spectrometry, with a low profile and High PHR. They are driven easily by voltages starting around 500 volts, and normal operating voltage is 750 to 900 volts (Maximum recommended 1100 volts). The R6231 is a 2 inch (51mm) diameter, Head-on type, Bialkali photocathode. The maximum spectral response is 300 to 650 nm, peaking near 435nm, originally designed for NaI or plastic scintillator based gamma cameras.
