The calibration check function (CalCheck) validates instrument performance. An automatic shutoff feature turns the meter off after 10 minutes of nonuse in measurement mode, and after one hour of nonuse in calibration mode, to help extend the life of the meter. Automated instructions on the LCD screen aid in routine operation. The meter is splashproof, and the lamp and filter are protected from dust and dirt by a transparent cup, making it suitable for field applications. The device uses a positive-locking system to help ensure consistent positioning of the cuvette. This photometer does not work in saltwater. Copper photometers measure copper content in drinking and surface water samples, and are commonly used in the water quality industry. Range is 0.000 to 1.500 mg/L. Accuracy is + or - 0.010 mg/L, + or - 5% of reading at 25 degrees C. Resolution is 0.001 mg/L for measurement, and 0.01 mg/L for calibration and validation.
