Note: To pair devices, Master devices must be paired with Slave devices and vice versa. Master and Master devices or Slave and Slave devices cannot be paired with each other. The HC-06 (which only supports Slave mode and is simpler to use) can be paired with PDA, PC, and other devices. The Bluetooth protocol for this module is Bluetooth Specification v2.0+EDR, and its frequency is 2.4GHz ISM band with modulation of GFSK (Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying) and emission power. The remote unit can be powered from 3.3V up to 6V for easy battery attachment. All signal pins on the remote unit are 3V-6V tolerant, so no level shifting is required. However, do not attach this device directly to a serial port. You will need an RS232 to TTL converter circuit or Arduio XBee USB Adapter if you need to attach it to a computer. We now offer both HC-05 and HC-06 Bluetooth modems. HC-05 can be set to Master or Slave by the user, while HC-06 can be customized to be either Master or Slave. This module defaults to HC-06 with Slave mode.
