🇺🇸**************************🇺🇸 This is a nice, clean Heathkit model C-3 Capacitor Leakage & Resistance Tester This unit is one of the best looking C-3 units I've come across in my time! However it's not in "mint" condition. Save for a couple of small scuffs that can be seen in the picture, it truly is close to like new physical condition. It doesn't come with any leads. There are binding posts for the best testing. I've provided pictures of it in operation to show you that this is not even close to the shot in the dark you will find for sale. I've used it for a few years, so I can attest well to it's recent history. I never had a problem with it. Photographs: Pictures 1, 2, & 3 show the very accurate measurement of a 10 mfd. @ 400+VDC electrolytic. Also there is a picture of the same cap being tested for leakage. The same aplies to the next few pics, only a .002mfd non polarized capacitor is in place for testing. The results are once again very accurate mesurements. I don't have any capacitors rated within the confines of the remaining capacitance measurement selections. I always use an everyday digital multimeter for acaccurate capacitance measurements. All controls, switches, etc. work fine and I lubed the shafts while I had it apart for the photos.& the magic eye tube is good & bright. You can't loose with these easy to maintain leakage detectors. I've used them for years and they prove themselves invaluable. The leakage test capabity of testing at high working voltages are what makes these type of units very popular. As far as I know, there's nobody makes anything modern that matches this superior type of tester for diagnosing capacitor condition. Like all vintage electronic equipment, the new owner might want to consider replacing remaing original capacitors. The orignal parts may have changed value over the years. Short of doing that, vintage electronics can easily become electrically unstable. I can only describe the electrical conditions and functionalty at the time this ad was together. Not a guarantee of workmanship. Thus I am officially listing this (as I often do with vintage equipment that works perfectly) as being sold as not working/ for parts or repair. **I believe firmly that this would be an excellent addition to your Ham Radio or Vintage Radio repair test bench!
