Back in the day, HeathKit sold both kit and wired electronic test equipment. The Model IT-22 Capacitor Tester you are viewing was wired in the factory sometime between 1963 and 1966; a very neatly manufactured instrument! Since the components inside this IT-22 are, at least, 50 years old,  ALL of the resistors and capacitors inside the unit were replaced. In addition, the red and black terminals were replaced as well as the original AC power cord. All of the connections, selector switches, etc., have been spray cleaned using Dupont electronic cleaners. These are the same cleaners I use on the old oxidized station tuners and volume controls found inside the radios I restore. The original power transformer and "eye" tube were tested and found to be just fine. The IT-22 for sale is a working unit. That means, it performs exactly as it was originally designed to do; that is: test for shorts and open capacitors !  Again, this instrument works and you can rely on the results. Nothing left for you to do other than learn how to use it correctly by reading the manual. Comes with a copy of the original Assembly and Operation Manual. The test probes you see in the photos do not come with the unit. The eye tube is very bright which made it difficult to photograph for this sale. However, you can get some idea from the attached photos.
