Take a look at this nice HEAVY DUTY INDUSTRAIL STRENGTH WHITE Sewing Machine Model 678 STRAIGHT & ZIG-ZAG BLIND STITCH Made of All METAL GEARS with a Strong 1.3 amp Motor Made in Japan in 1960's IN VERY GOOD WORKING CONDITION Up for auction is a nice all metal, heavy duty White Sewing Machine made in the 60's in very good working condition. The man I got the machine was useing it to do general sewing of all kinds. Vinyl, Sailboat Cover, Auto Upholstery, Silk, You can sew Leather, Jeans, Quilt, Tents, Horse Blankets, and more !!!! This machine has been completely serviced, checked and cleaned. It's in excellent working condition. This sewing machine was tested on 2 layers of 5oz leather, 8 layers of heavy denim, 6 layer of canvas and worked great. Using standard 15x1, sizes #18 needle. This sewing machine uses needle sizes from 9 to 22, you can buy at any fabric store or Walmart. All tests were made using a #18 needle and Coats .T26 upholstery thread is equivalent to commercial #69 nylon thread. This heavy duty sewing machine is straight stitch, with a oscillating hook (semi-rotating hook).
