I acquired this a number of years ago in an action lot and have no history on where it came from or what is was being used for. I believe it was either a food well in a buffet or steam table or a Deep Well for ice but that is just my guess. Certainly it would work great for those applications but I can also think of many uses for such a generous and convenient size of Stainless Steel tub, tank, sink, well, or pan. It is made of a heavy guage Stainless steel. The top has a flanged style rim so it can drop into it's spot while being supported by the rim. The Outside measurements of this rim are 24-1/8" x 18-1/8"and actual free standing height is 10-1/16". The inside of the actual well is 22" x 16"x 10". The rim extends 1/2 inch above your table top. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures but it is constructed of a piece of stainless steel forming the flanged rim and one side then wrapping around under to become the bottom before wrapping upward to form the corresponding opposite side and rim. Each end panel and rim are a single piece. I know for certain that this well has no leaks. The rim and well are nice and straight with no warping or twist. It will drop in it's home sitting nice and flat with the full perimeter of the rim in contact with the table top surface. Prior to photographing the well for this listing, I cleaned it using Windex and paper towels. If you plan to utilize this in any capacity where a Food Grade well is required, or any application sensitive to possible contamination factors, I expect you to clean and prepare it for use in a manner consistent with all legal requirements and your own personal or company standards.
