For sale is a used Hewlett Packard (HP) 746A High Voltage Amplifier. This unit is most often used in conjunction with a 745A AC Calibrator to amplify the output voltage x10. For example, the 745A has a maximum output of 100VAC (+10%); the 746A will boost that voltage to 1,000 VAC (+10%). Other AC sources may also be used as long as they meet the requirements for input and control as specified in the service manual (included). The unit powers up normally; the Warmup light extinguishes after a minute or two and the Ready light illuminates. There is a brief series of internal self-tests that the unit performs before the Ready light comes on, so it is apparently passing those tests. The right rack handle is broken. This unit cannot be function-tested because the control cable end is cut off. Therefore, it is sold AS-IS with no return accepted. Reason: I don't want it back; it is in the way and needs to move on to someone else' shop. However, if there is something terribly wrong with this description, you may return it under eBay's policies. I want you to know exactly what you are getting before you buy it. I will include a copy of the service manual for your reference. If there is something you want me to test on it, just ask.
