This lot is for a known value NOS 6L6 tube used in the calibration process for a Hickok 533, 533A, 534, 600, 600A, 605, 800, 800A, 6000, 6000A, or TV-7 military Hickok or Hickok-based tube tester. PLEASE SEE MY FEEDBACK FOR THESE TUBES. This tube can also be used to gauge the measured value of another brand tester as a comparison with what a regular Hickok reads, but I have no other brand calibration information. These NOS tubes are chosen for their ability to provide a stable Gm reading rather than for music quality. These tubes are tested against known calibrated tubes on a calibrated 533 Hickok. The value of the 6L6 tube is used to set up or calibrate the appropriate Gm range (3000, 6000, and 15000) on Hickok testers. I will email the winner with scans of instructions for calibrating a 600 or 600A Hickok (as outlined in a 12/2/55 Hickok company bulletin on calibration), calibrating a 533 or 533A Hickok (as outlined in a 6/14/61 Hickok company bulletin on calibration), and the calibration instructions for a 6000 or 6005 Hickok (as outlined in a 2/25/60 Hickok company bulletin on calibration). Instructions for calibrating other models in the testers listed above can be viewed on the internet , but I don't offer them because I am not sure if they are copyrighted --- Google or Bing for what you want to make sure you get what you need. All sets of instructions of which I am aware call for use of a known value 6L6 tube. The reject points on these testers is 3150 for a 6L6 (25 for 6l6 on a TV-7 tyoe tester). The nominal NOS Gm is 5000 for a 6L6 (40 for a 6L6 on a TV-7 type tester). On a TV-7 type tester, each point is equal to 125 Gm points for a 6L6. Look on the internet for a Stark tube chart (bama/edebris has one)---this is essentially a Hickok tester made in Canada, but they took the time and trouble to clearly state your reject and nominal NOS points. Each of these testers listed above was designed and the test settings and parameters specifically created to read a 6L6 tube as I have outlined above---even if some of the settings differ, the readings should be the same.
