This is a rare Hickok vacuum tube tester, the small portable model 230. It is a solid state tester with no tubes inside, and will test thousands of tubes including magnovals and compactrons. It will not test antique large pin tubes. This is one of the very last testers that Hickok made, and they are rare. It tests for opens, shorts, grid leakage, H-K leakage and dynamic emissions that are tested at a higher plate current than any other emissions tester. The H-K and grid leakage read right on the meter for more accurate results than other testers that use a neon lamp. Completely cleaned and calibration checked. The faceplate shows some wear and the left hinge for the cover is broken, but the cover, once latched, stays firmly in place. The tester has been bench tested and operates perfectly and accurately.
