1 KW High Voltage Capacitor Charging Power Supply 0-1700 volt Plug-in Module This unit is suitable for powering high power flash tubes, magnetrons, coil guns and many experimental and practical circuits. It provides serious power and is not for children’s science experiments. It was removed from a working system, but has not been powered up or tested. It looks to be in good shape and there is no sign of any component failure. Item is sold as is. Industrial Laser Power Supply module by Control Laser Model 1014533, Serial 11771-12Y Input 208 – 240 volt AC, 3 Phase, any frequency Output 0-1700 volts DC, 1 kw Additional specs are not available and the following description is not guaranteed. From a quick inspection of this power supply module it appears that it works as follows: Input power goes through a 15 amp breaker to a 3 phase full wave rectifier. This DC power feeds two SCRs in push-pull that drive a transformer. The SCRs are fired by a circuit that accepts an external low voltage signal to control the output voltage. The transformer has 4 identical isolated secondary windings that go to individual full wave bridge rectifiers. The rectifier outputs are wired in series to provide the module’s actual output voltage. There are also 2 opto-isolated low voltage inputs that appear to be for interlock/enable functions. The red pilot light on the front panel may be for fault indication. The circuitry is wide open and easy to trace. Rugged, high quality components have been used throughout on this American made unit. It is built on a 1/4 inch thick aluminum chassis. This item probably cost over $2000 when new. No instruction manual or connection diagram is included. This power supply will likely work on single phase, but with reduced current output. Energy storage capacitors are not included, but we do have some capacitors on auction now. This is a great deal for a really hefty capacitor charging power supply, but using it will require appropriate technical knowledge. 1700 Volts at 1KW can be deadly and can cause a lot of damage to people and property.
