Hill Rom VersaCare Hospital Bed   For sale- a Hill Rom VersaCare Hospital Bed.  I have not had a chance to test it yet.  The surplus info said that they were all in good condition, and from a casual observation I would say that yes, they are in good/used condition.  I have three available, price is for ONE.  It would be nice to think that these will be purchased by somebody in the business of reselling them, and that they will go over them and make any repairs that might be required.  But if you only need one and are the end user I am guessing that at least one of them will be fully functional.   I have sold two without complaint, and I went through both of those and they moved as expected in all directions.  I have no reason to expect the remaining beds to be any different.  Of the three one is missing the remote control.  That duplicates some of the movement controls found on the bed rails that raise and lower on either side.  It also has some features that would only work if the bed was plugged into a hospital network, such as nurse call and TV.  For some patients I would think you would NOT want them to have access to the movement controls, so if you don’t want that please make me an offer.   Having sold a couple of these I now can state that shipping these has proved to be a nightmare, so I will pay special attention to offers that include a note saying you will come pick it up (in zip code 23093).  That is NOT the same as making your own freight arrangements UNLESS you provide a pick up by a blanket wrap carrier that will just take the bed and roll it on the truck.  Prep time to get one of these ready to ship was about six hours on the one that I did send freight, so if I have to go through all of that just having a different carrier doesn’t really help all that much.   There was a Quick Reference Guide attached to one which I brought home.  All are P3200 B version, I don't know what that would tell you if anything.  Responding to the question of a potential buyer I found that they all have patient scales built in, but they do NOT have the optional air mattress and inflation system.   Again, at this point they are completely untested and NO warranty is offered.  HOWEVER, IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it.  Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases.  Accepted Best Offers are strictly an as is sale, no returns allowed.  Return would be for a refund of the purchase price, not including shipping costs which will be substantial.   Just so that we are clear on that, this is an item that has not been thoroughly tested.  As such it may work fine or it may have problems, so any purchase entails a certain degree of risk.  If you Buy It Now your risk is limited to the shipping costs both ways.  If you submit an offer you do so knowing that you cannot return it.  In either case it is up to you to decide whether the risk level is acceptable to you, and if not you need to pass on this particular item.   Ebay rules require me to state the following- The sale of this item may be subject to regulation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and state and local regulatory agencies. If so, do not bid on this item unless you are an authorized purchaser. If the item is subject to FDA regulation, I will verify your status as an authorized purchaser of this item before shipping of the item.  This item was formerly the property of the University of Virginia, and does not appear to have been modified in any way.   Before I would ship one of these I would put it through the entire range of motions using the various control areas.  I don’t know that I can test the patient scales by myself however, so those will remain untested.  In the unlikely event that none of the three remaining beds is fully functional we can always cancel the transaction and refund any  payments made.   Please check out my other listings for more interesting lab, test, and medical equipment.  Check back often!   Sold as is, as described, as pictured.  Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.  Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.  If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.  Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.   You are also encouraged to visit my “ME” page, where my terms, conditions, and philosophy of doing business are outlined.  I don’t think anything there is outside the bounds of normal e-commerce, but they are binding on the transaction.   Shipping will be motor freight unless you would like to come pick it up.  I would estimate the shipping weight at around 600 pounds.  I was hoping when I first bought these that somebody in the refurbishing business would buy them all and make them go away.  That has not proven to be the case, all of the potential buyers typically have somebody at home that needs a hospital bed, so that involves a residential delivery with a lift gate required.  Which just for those two services using my usual carrier is $125.  Worse, they categorize the beds in a higher freight class which basically doubles the normal freight cost.  So I have used a broker for most of the quotes on these, and even through them the rates are still really high, particularly going to a residence.   So there are some practical restraints here.  Shipping one to a residence on the west coast is going to be cost prohibitive, probably $1000+.  So unless you have a less expensive shipping alternative lined up I really have no interest in selling and shipping one beyond say the Midwest.   Some of the other details that have come into play include getting it inside.  The freight carrier is going to want to offload this at the curb and be on his way.  Yes, you can pay extra for “Inside Delivery” which MIGHT get it closer to your house, or maybe inside the garage.  Neither my regular carrier nor the broker offers “white glove service”, meaning if they can’t roll it inside with a pallet jack or a hand truck then oh well, and chances are they cannot.  The bed is about 35” wide exclusive of any packaging.  Most outside doors are 36” wide at best, and interior doors tend to be smaller.  These things are almost impossible to manhandle, so if you think you are going to roll it over on its side to slide it through a door you are probably fooling yourself.   So all that said I am not even going to offer a range of shipping estimates like I normally do.  Figure $400 MINIMUM for a nearby delivery and up from there.  I will be happy to quote you for the shipment, but I need to know the zip code, residential or commercial, and whether a lift gate will be required (yes unless you have a forklift or a loading dock).  And please do NOT make an offer and then find out the shipping costs are more than you have budgeted for, it’s a big waste of my time.  IF you are within a reasonable distance I may be willing to trailer it to you, but that isn’t a freebie.  I will get a quote for the delivery and if I can shave anything off of it and not go broke on the gas cost alone then at least when I get there I can perhaps help you get it inside.  But if I get there and you have a flight of steps or some other obstacle (particularly  if you neglected to mention it) it will be up to you to negotiate said obstacle.
