The following modules are included (as described in the manual): BASIC CHROMATOGRAPHY MODULE: The Basic High-Pressure Chromatography Module contains a single hydraulic system which includes an injection valve, a column selection valve, a detector cell, and interconnecting tubing. The column selection valve makes it possible to switch between two sets of columns. The columns, detector cells, and valves are placed inside the module away from drafts. The valves are controlled externally, either by the Gradient Pump Module or by a pair of Controlled Air Modules. CONDUCTIVITY DETECTOR: A microprocessor-based detection system. Electronic signal processing increases the signal-to-noise ratio, enhancing sensitivity and lowering detection limits. The detector automatically offsets up to 10,000 uS of background conductivity and compensates for temperature-caused conductivity variations. The auto-ranging conductivity readout dynamically displays conductivities over the entire 10,000 uS full scale range. GRADIENT PUMP: The Gradient Pump Module is a microprocessor-based eluant delivery system designed to pump mixtures of up to four solvents at precisely controlled flow rates. The selected mixture may be delivered either isocratically or as a linear gradient. The gradient profile is defined by a program of time-based steps, with each step specifying the eluant composition and flow rate to be delivered by the pump at the specified time. As the program runs, the microprocessor calculates teh changes in eluant composition required to deliver a linear gradient from one program step to the next. Modules are mounted in a single case with an 11-outlet, fuse protected power strip controlled by a single ON/OFF switch.
