Input signals connected at one module are transmitted to another module where the signals are re-created as outputs, or passed via RS232/485 to a host device (a PLC or SCADA system). XYR3000 I/O Modules use frequency-hopping spread spectrum and operate on the license-free 900MHz band. The operating radio range of the XYR3000 Series depends on obstruc - tions in the radio path, the height above ground of the antennas, and the type of antennas used. Typically line-of-sight ranges are 20+ miles. Longer distances may be achieved depending on local conditions. The XYR3000 Series provides a measurement of both radio channel noise and radio signal strength to assist with installation and testing. Each XYR3000 also provides a repeater function, for retransmitting a message to a remote module that doesn’t have a reliable radio path. The repeater acts as an intermediate module between the two ends of the radio link. Messages can be repeated up to five times by intermedi - ate repeaters, so long radio paths can be achieved. Repeaters can also have their own I/O. The XYR3001 and XYR3002 modules are easy to configure using PC- based utility software. Configuration files can be uploaded from the modules to the PC for modification or archiving. The XYR300L can be configured via the serial port. Unidirectional units can be configured to network with Multi-I/O and Gateway units. XYR3001 and XYR3002 modules provide PC-based diagnostic and test functions for I/O and communications. XYR3000 modules also have a radio strength measurement to indicate background noise and received radio strength. This feature allows radio paths to be tested without any additional test equipment. The XYR300L diagnostic features include read input and write output values, radio signal strength, and monitor communication messages. XYR3001 modules have two inputs that accept 4–20mA analog sig - nals. One input has adjustable setpoints for controlling a digital output. XYR3002 modules have six inputs that accept 0-20mA (4-20mA, 0-10mA) analog signals. XYR300L has one input that will accept 0-20mA (4-20mA, 0-10mA) and 0-5V analog signals. The analog input has adjustable set - points for controlling digital outputs. The XYR3001 and XYR3002 high and low setpoints can be configured for analog inputs to provide On/Off control of a remote digital output contact. XYR300L High and low setpoints generate internal digital status which is transmitted as per digital input. Setpoint values can be set via the front panel rotary switch or configuration software.
