This machine crafts flake ice, commonly used in hospitals for ice packs or grocery stores in cold-food display cases. It's water cooled, which means it can use a building's existing water supply to cool itself, requiring less electricity than air- or remote-cooled models. The stainless steel exterior of the Hoshizaki F-801MWH ice maker is durable to withstand dents and scratches, ensuring a lengthy service life. Its auger is also stainless steel—this gives it rust resistance, a key factor for metals that frequently contact water. The ice head has a 2-second flush cycle that activates hourly to remove any built-up sediment that might contaminate ice-making water.
