This HP 8444A tracking generator, S# 1817A03223, operates at frequencies between 500 KHz and 1,300 MHz and comes with option 058.  Since I'm not familiar with this device, I found these remarks which describe its use and purpose. The HP 8444A is a Tracking, Signal, or Sweep Generator for use with the Spectrum Analyser 8554B (500kHz to 1,250MHz) and 8555A (10MHz to 1.3GHz) RF Sections.  The Generator converts the 1st and 3rd Local Oscillator outputs from the RF Sections and mixes them with a 1.55GHz Oscillator to provide an output that tracks the tuning frequency of the Spectrum Analyser.  Option 058 is for use with the HP 180 and HP 8558B Spectrum Analyser.  It adds a 500MHz 3rd Local Oscillator circuit to the Tracking Generator as this is not available from the 8558B.  The frequency range is unchanged at 500kHz to 1.3GHz.  An extra BNC connector is available on the rear panel for the 3rd L.O. Output.  This is connected via a short BNC cable to the rear panel 3rd L.O. Input. This sale includes a 14 day warranty.  The foam pads which attach to the cover and hold the circuit boards in place had deteriorated.  They were replaced with new, white pads, which are shown in the second photo.  The interior was carefully cleaned and the foam debris was blown out.  This item has been stored in a dry environment without use for several years.  It is clean and appears to in good operating condition.  It comes with a power cord and an access power cord adapter.  I had one handy and I thought it might be a hassle to find one. 
This unit is untested. It came from the Cal Lab of San Antonio last year. It was previously calibrated years ago by Rothe Development.
