didnt know the 8563e had tracking generators for them? well they do , but its external and only works with the 856xx series and has its own built in attenuator just like the 859xx series. so now you can get all the high performance of the 856xx series but plus have a tracking generator designed for it! tg goes from 300 khz to 2.9 ghz. 85640a is the model . pics show sensitivity at -130 db signal and phase noise function as well as signal purity at 26.5 ghz , amplitude is dead on accurate since the cable gets exactly 3 db of loss at that frequency. for an extra 200$ I can have opt 8 installed which is used for external mixing , signal id function. with external mixers for a few hundred extra you can get 50 ghz with this analyzer. Rental option as well for only 300$ a month. This is a 30 hz to 26.5 ghz hp spectrum analyzer , but with the optional mixers that can be supplied for 700$(includes 2 mixers), you can achieve 50ghz + testing! or 200$ extra for the 40 ghz mixer, or even up to 110 ghz with other mixers BRAND NEW CALIBRATION with certificate and stickers(Nist Traceable and up to mil std specs etc...) ! passes all tests flawlessly! I may be able to lower the buy it now price on this. contact me about that has opt 6 the extension freq range to 30 hz, 7 the fast digitized sweeps/adc and 26 the 3.5mm /sma connector input (this option has been added after pics were taken but you can rest assured it will be on there when it ships to you :) 30 day warranty right of return exchange warranty! Also I can have the phase noise or spurious noise measurements installed on a free mass memory module before shipment for no extra cost! thats a 800 $ value ! this is a NEWLY REFURBISHED 8563E model spectrum analyzer with brand new calibration First I realigned the loda amplitude and dual mixer alignment on the a14 board, then realigned the yig/yto and cal out freq which calibrates the frequency accuracy across the spectrum, then performed the ytf realignment which calibrates the amplitude and preselector, then complete flatness calibration and realignment according to the service manual . this unit performs like new in regards to amplitude, attenuator, and frequency accuracy. my cal is much better than any cal lab's calibration because I run all the manual adjustments. they only run it thru a software program and realign the freq response(flatness) at most (if that). other companies like tmi just look at it and certify it automatically without even testing it thoroughly . . Overall the unit has no issues and comes with a right of return guarantee , for exchange for buy it now customers only. The process that I perform on my units would cost you at least 1500$ at any other dealer. Because I do all the usual calibrations plus all the adjustments. Even if you buy one on ebay calibrated or from a dealer calibrated, it wont include any manual adjustments and thus won't perform as precise . I'm sure of this because I have received many units from cal labs all over the country and none of them do any adjustments or realignments like me. Not to mention, all my units are refurbished which means cosmetically making them in as pristine condition as possible. I have never had a problem shipping this same unit around the world so far. so feel free to buy it now from any country. there wont be any problems and shipping will be the cheapest you will find guaranteed! comes with face cover (for an extra 100$), mass memory module(for an extra 200$)(mixer up to 40 ghz for an extra 300$ which I can add into the buy it now price) and power cable. cosmetically its in excellent condition with only a few minor scuffs. ! . an 85620a mass memory module can be included for an extra 200$. they sell on ebay used for around 1000$ and used from avalon for 1800$!. They were originally 3000$ new. and they do a lot more than add 100 or so more save states. the mass memory module adds many nice options as well. you can search online for exact functions. but its very nice to have. see below for dealer pricing: **Pre-Owned Unit** - A companion Mass Memory Module, the Agilent 85620A / HP 85620A, plugs onto the rear panel. Use 128K bytes of built-in, battery-backed RAM of the HP 85620A to store at least 10 downloadable programs (DLP's) or more than 100 traces. This module has the capability to generate 'smart' limit lines to track the analyzers' settings and automatically adjust to the changes. With the built-in clock, auto-save, and auto-execute capabilities of the Mass Memory Module, the HP 8561A and 8562A/B can automatically make measurements at specified times or when specific frequency/amplitude criteria are met Originally: $2,504.00 Our Price: $1,795.00 the main difference between the 8562E and 8563E is that the 3 has I larger frequency span. All buttons, knob, outputs , and inputs and both ref sources(rear 10 mhz ref and front 300mhz cal out ref) work great. crt is in perfect condition with no screen burn or significant sign of aging. Its still super bright and perfectly focused. . The crt is bright, clear, sharp and focused. The Agilent 8563E spectrum analyzer is a wide band, very sensitive receiver. It works on the principle of "super-heterodyne receiver" to convert higher frequencies (normally ranging up to several 10s of GHz) to measurable quantities. The received frequency spectrum is slowly swept through a range of pre-selected frequencies, converting the selected frequency to a measurable DC level (usually logarithmic scale), and displaying the same on the CRT of the Agilent 8563E. The CRT displays received signal strength (y-axis) against frequency ( x-axis). Some applications for Agilent 8563E Spectrum Analyzers include Site Monitoring: Verify that the frequency and signal strength of your transmitter is accurate. Interference: Before a system is installed you use a Agilent 8563E spectrum analyzer to verify that the frequencies (you plan to use) are not occupied or if the presence of a very strong signal will interfere with your new setup. Interference can be created by a number of different situations. Other tests that utilize the Agilent 8563E spectrum analyzer features include antenna isolation, co-channel interference, adjacent channel power, occupied bandwidth, intermodulation, microwave or satellite antenna alignment, and characterization of components. The HP / Agilent 8563E 9 kHz to 26.5 GHz Portable Color Display RF Spectrum Analyzer offers the measurement capability and performance previously found in larger, more expensive benchtop analyzers. This analyzer combines outstanding phase noise, sensitivity, 1 Hz resolution bandwidths, synthesized tuning and wide dynamic range in a package built to withstand environmental conditions. It offers a complete solution for adjacent-channel power (ACP) testing of burst carrier signals using digital modulation, and the ability to measure occupied bandwidth percentage. Time-gated signal analysis allows you to easily measure time-varying signals such as pulsed RF, time-division multiple access, interleaved, and burst-modulated. For millimeter applications that don't require full microwave coverage, the 8563E with the Agilent 11970 series harmonic mixers or Agilent 11974 series preselected mixers is a lower-cost solution Form Factor Benchtop Type Analyzer Input Impedance 50 Ohm Minimum Frequency 9 kHz Maximum Frequency 26.5 GHz Zero Span Yes Minimum Span 100 Hz Maximum Span 26.5 GHz Minimum Sweep Time 50 ms Maximum Sweep Time 100 ks Minimum Resolution Bandwidth 1 Hz Maximum Resolution Bandwidth 1 MHz Resolution Bandwidth Steps 1/3/10 Minimum Video Bandwidth 1 Hz Maximum Video Bandwidth 3 MHz Video Bandwidth Steps 1/3/10 Minimum Single-Side-Band Noise -113 dBc/Hz Maximum Single-Side-Band Noise -80 dBc/Hz Maximum Safe AC Input 1 dBm Maximum DC Input 0.2 V Minimum Displayed Average Noise -148 dBm Maximum Displayed Average Noise -90 dBm Maximum Dynamic Range 148 dB Maximum Amplitude Uncertainty 3 % Trigger Source External,Internal Trigger Modes Freerun,TTL Demodulation AM,FM Connector type (main signal) Type-N(f) 2nd IF Input Connector Type SMA(f) 1st Local Oscillator (LO) Output Connector SMA(f) Cal Output Connector Type BNC(f) Probe Power Yes External Frequency Reference 10 MHz Noise Source Driver No this unit is guaranteed to work perfectly with no issues,. . returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt only(30 day right of return and will be given an exchange only). Run the unit thru the test and adjustment module in the back with a software (one of 3 providers) that connects to a signal generator, splitter and power meter , and old style computer which merely tests the functionality of the unit and does not adjust any parameter in any way. the software gives a pass/fail if it performs within a wide gap of spec. (does not have to be accurate whatsoever to pass!) they then give you a cal certificate printed by the software stating if it passes or fails. the flatness accuracy can be within 6 db range of error! unacceptable! type 2. Companies like TMI dont have any cal automated software (not that you need it if you know what you're doing and can afford to spend some extra time on it) , they just have a tech turn it on and go thru some basic routine to test functionality. I have had multiple units come to me from TMI and other cal labs with a new cal from them and it was more than 8 db off with many holes , frequency was wayyyy out of spec! not even close! and span accuracy was way out of spec because they had hardware defects ! yet somehow the units had cal certificates and they verified that it was indeed calibrated and passed with no issues within spec. this has happened many times between me and my partner and other colleagues , but tmi is not the only company out in the test equipment field that is notorious for this kind of service. type 3. companies like cal right in san diego are actually legit cal companies. they can do a great job realigning the flatness with their software , even if its way off to begin with, they also include a data report printed by the software which can be tricky to interpret sometimes . (some of my units have this calibration when I need them to have data reports). they only do basic sytf realignment and flatness adjustment . there are about 6 to 8 other adjustments including frequency adjustment and span adjustments that need to be calibrated to ensure your analyzer functions like new again and there simply is not any cal company in the country that performs all the adjustments in their cal routine. If I use this company for cal , I first run all the extensive adjustments myself here at my cal lab and then send it out to them so they can generate a data report and have the verification by software that some companies demand. If you need this type of cal and this unit doesn't state it has a data report, you can pay an extra 500$ for it and I'll send it out for you. Type 4. this is my cal routine and consists of realigning the loda amplitude and dual mixer alignment on the a14 board, then realign the yig/yto which is the span accuracy adjustment, and cal out freq which calibrates the frequency accuracy across the spectrum (10 mhz clock cal) ,then check and adjust the a16 board micro adjustment ,and verify the sampler on the a15 frequency synth board is where it should be , then perform the sytf (E series)/ytf(A series) realignment which calibrates the amplitude and preselector, then complete flatness calibration (which makes the amplitude across the spectrum dead on accurate ) and realignment according to the service manual but doing a secret technique I figured out from years of experience that allows me to program the analyzer to support up to 26.5 ghz without having the option 26 ! some analyzers may be only able to get to 26 ghz within spec after my flatness adjustment but most can get up to 26.5 perfectly within spec! Every analyzer you buy won't be able to peform past 22 ghz within spec without my adjustments, this is a huge added bonus for the unit that greatly increases its value and It's all free, no extra charge , included in the cal! .I also check all the voltages to make sure the power supply across all 8 boards are right on the money. and I also adjust the crt as well to ensure that you get the most brightness and focus as possible! (quite often I can convert a bad crt into a good crt with only a simple series of adjustments! ) my units will perform like new in regards to amplitude, attenuator, span and frequency accuracy
